Engine monitoring system (EMS)
Meggitt Avionics´ engine monitoring units are specified on a
number of military and civil aircraft. Originally developed for the
Harrier and Tornado, we manufacture engine monitoring units (EMUs)
for the Eurofighter and, as a partner with BAE Systems, for the
Boeing B787 and Airbus A380.
- In service on Harrier GR7, AV8-B, Tornado, Eurofighter
(Typhoon)
- Monitors life limited/critical components
- Processes information for analysis of lice cycle fatigue,
thermal fatigue and thermal creep
- Indentifies exceedences - speed, temperature, vibration and
pressure
- Outputs data to flight deck display for maintenance
purposes
- Optional fan balance data
- Reduces life cycle costs, increases flight safety
